The Black Doris brand has grown from collecting fallen plums in a nearby abandoned orchard, to foraging parsley for pesto on the coasts of Banks Peninsula, creating several food products along the way.  Black Doris Founder, Laura, has always had a passion for food and ingredients. As the desserts took off in cafes around Christchurch, attention has been focussed with these products, then expanding to the Dessert Bars to bring more access to this product for conscious consumers in the broader grocery sector.

As this business journey began with the Black Doris plums, it seemed fitting to share our love of the plum in the Black Doris name!

Black Doris slices and Dessert Bars are plant based, vegan, dairy free, gluten free and are a great addition to any diet. 

 

A variety of raw slices available for wholesale to cafes include; Black Doris Plum, Lemon Delicious, Salted Caramel, Peanut+Chocolate, Raspberry+Hemp, Peppermint, Chocolate Truffle, and Ginger+Pistachio.

 

Dessert Bars come in 5 varieties; Lemon Delicious, Salted Caramel, Peanut+Chocolate, Raspberry+Hemp and Chocolate Truffle

Being passionate about the environment, we do as much as we can to limit our packaging impact.  Slices are delivered boxed to cafes and the Dessert Bars come in a recyclable box.

We have huge aspirations for Black Doris (can't wait to B-Corp!) to create an ethical, sustainable business, working towards regeneration, using organic and NZ grown ingredients where possible,  giving the people of Aotearoa access to nourishing foods, informed choices and the chance to be part of company that wants to be the change and make a difference in the world.
